I hold two degrees form York University: Honours Bachelor of Fine Arts (Studio) and a Bachelor of Education (Intermediate/Senior). I believe in lifelong learning and recently attended classes at the University of the Arts in London to diversify my education. My successful completion of classes in business, fashion, and magazine design, reflects an intrinsic desire to remain current with new technologies and skills needed within art related industries.
As an artist, I had my first solo exhibit titled Triclosan Toronto, displayed in Founders College, York University. The university awarded The Goldfarb Grant for the Arts to help fund the project. I have participated in a number of exhibits both within and outside of York University. I wish to continue to work both as a professional teacher and artist.
I chose to attend the Graphic Design for Print and Web program at Humber by recommendation from a friend who works in web design. After doing extensive research, this program appeared to have what I was looking for – that is teachers who can provide feedback based on real world experience, a compressed program focusing on the needed technical skill to be successful, portfolio development and career counselling.
After completing this class, I hope to have the skill I need to work part time as a freelance graphic designer/ web designer or obtain employment with a company in Toronto, Calgary or Vancouver.
A fun fact about me is I recently came back from Peru after spending five days hiking the Inca Trail.
